Whispering for Help
“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)
I have a dear friend that keeps me sane when I am spinning out of control with too much information downloaded, as they say today. We all have those days when we feel that we just might spin right off the edge whether it is good news, a combination of good and bad news or news we did not expect or want to hear.
One entire week was full of unexpected news, but it was a collection of unexpected and out of the blue, kind of news. By the end of seven days, I was feeling so many emotions I did not know whether to cry with joy or with loss. To put a picture to it, imagine a child’s spinning top and someone is constantly pumping it again and again. This was how I felt. I thought I was never going to stop my whirling and twirling.
I must have knocked on the door to Christ many times during the week. I am just one person, asking for healings, for direction, for understanding, forgiveness and even with praises of thanksgiving. I know the door was never shut to me; it was more of a revolving door and it just did not stop. But I was grateful that Christ never once locked me out.
Then I thought to myself: multiply me and my week by a kazillion others doing the same with their never-ending requests. How does our God, our Lord and Savior do it? The answer? We are all heard and we are all given answers. He even hears our breath as we whisper for His help.
Father: We are so blessed by Your love and always having Your full attention. I am grateful that I can come to You no matter my circumstance and lay down my burdens at Your feet. I will never to be turned away or find the door locked. Thank You for controlling my personal spinning and stopping me from going over the edge. AMEN.
