A New Year’s Day Prayer
"And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also, he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." Revelation 21:5
Dear God, Thank You that You make all things new. You make us new as we entrust ourselves to Your love, mercy, and unchanging grace. We ask that the difficulties of last year have made us more dependent on You. We pray that each circumstance, with Your care, has transformed us more into a reflection of Jesus.
This year, may we see others as You do – with eyes of love and compassion. May we care for people with abundant generosity – as You care for us.
We pray for Your Spirit to lead us each step of this New Year. We ask that You guide our decisions and turn our hearts to deeply desire You above all else. We ask for help to pursue You first, above every dream and desire You’ve put within our hearts.
In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, amen.
