Blessings of Peace

“The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace” (Psalm 29:11).

How well do we know Jesus? Do we fully trust Him? Are we comfortable in His Presence? Sometimes I am spot on and other days I am out there in left field at the wrong ball park. He wants us to know Him and love Him in a most intimate way—every day.

This was part of my devotion this morning and I think it is worth sharing.

I want you to know how safe and secure you are in My Presence. That is a fact, totally independent of your feelings. You are on your way to heaven; nothing can prevent you from reaching that destination. There you will see Me face to Face, and your Joy will be off the charts by any earthly standards. Even now, you are never separated from Me, though you must see Me through eyes of faith. I will walk with you till the end of time and onward into eternity.

Although My Presence is a guaranteed promise, that does not necessarily change your feelings. When you forget I am with you, you may experience loneliness or fear. It is through awareness of My Presence that Peace displaces negative feelings. Practice the discipline of walking consciously with Me through each day. –Sarah Young

If only I could do that all the time but I am incapable of being consistent. I do believe that awareness is a vitally important step. Once we see our needy condition and ask for wisdom and guidance, our heavenly vision becomes clearer as we continue on this earthly path.

It is so refreshing to know that I belong to Him for eternity. There is nothing that can change that. Even my dumb, stupid mistakes can’t undo what God has done.  “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch then out of my Father’s hand” (1 Corinthians 13:12).

After the refreshment of this realized promise, I then can capture glimpses of peace. I don’t have the corner on that market either and find it to be rather elusive. We all need to take personal surveys often to see our level of peace. (Most of you are already thinking; ‘Ummm, no I don’t! Not today!’)

Well, we know how to find peace, so… it’s waiting for you when you’re ready.
