Thank You for the Holy Spirit

Romans 5:5 And hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Oh Lord, gracious gift giver- thank You for the Holy Spirit. The power of the Spirit enables us to bear witness to the love and life of Jesus Christ every day. You have never required us to be strong or brave enough on our own. You have always willingly empowered our ability to answer every call to love as Jesus does.

Thank You for the assurance of adoption that You give through the Spirit. We know we don’t deserve this relationship, and confess that we sometimes doubt that You could actually love us that much. We are so grateful for the assurance of being Your children, which the Spirit affirms. We are no longer servants but beloved children.

When the demands and challenges of life weigh us down, the presence of Your Spirit renews us. Please help us to continually set our minds on the Spirit so that the Spirit controls our thinking rather than our worries. We are grateful for the life and peace You offer.

Lord, You know our weaknesses. Thank You that the Spirit prays for us. It seems unimaginable that the Holy Spirit would intercede for us, yet it is true, and it makes all the difference. Thank You for the gifts and fruit that the Spirit makes available to us. Please help us to never ignore the gifts but to use them every day to be blessed and a blessing to others.

Holy Spirit fill, use, and dwell in us! Amen.
