You Need ME!

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”

(Philippians 4:19, NKJV).

We are needy creatures and cannot exist without help. Some think they are self-sufficient, but the bottom line is we cannot survive without God’s blessing us with air, water and daily bread. I openly admit that I am in need of a Savior.

The older I get, the more aware I become of what I don’t comprehend. We really don’t know a whole lot—probably just enough to get us into trouble. We never want to think we know it all because then we become arrogant and cocky.

God designed us to need Him every moment of the day. Don’t get confused with the negative word ‘needy’ that has become a label for high maintenance people. Those are the folks who can’t make timely decisions, tend to whine, show some passive aggressive traits, and love to drone on about themselves and their problems. That is not how God looks at you…or is it?

I love those “ah-ha” moments when I realize what God has provided. In those times, I have to slow down and seriously consider where I was, what I prayed for, and what He gave me. Usually it far exceeds what I requested. He is a good Father and takes care of me out of His plentiful sufficiency.

It seems to me that the more I acknowledge my neediness, the more blessings I receive. The more I include Him and talk to Him is when I feel His presence. Perhaps my neediness and His abundant supply fit together perfectly and keep us connected. Just a thought!

I have tried relying on relationships, money, jobs and all kinds of earthly things but they have all let me down. How about you? We have all learned what does not work! Now, the more we consistently rely on Him, the better our lives will be. Not only will He meet our needs but we will find delight in the time we spend with Him. I truly believe He wants us to live in joyful dependence on Him. Try it, you’ll like it!

Father, thank You for loving me even when I am not very lovable. You know exactly what I need and what is best for me. Help my heart be grateful. Nudge me to come to You with all the details of my day because You care and You want to be part of it. AMEN.
