Even Though We Can't See Him by Anonymous

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9)

What a gift faith is in my life! Faith is a difficult concept to explain to people; believing what you cannot see or prove seems ridiculous to a non-believer. On first glance, faith may seem to require a rejection of logic, a step out of your comfort zone into the unknown, and many people are unwilling to make that leap. But the neat thing about faith is that once you make that leap – God works a miracle in your heart. It no longer matters that you can’t touch God or verify His existence in a lab – you just KNOW that He is there. You see Him in the sunset, in your child’s face, in the beauty of a rainbow. You feel Him when you are lost and alone, when you are scared, when you are sick. You hear His voice in the quiet of the night and in the roar of a thunderstorm. He dances with you in your celebrations, and He cries with you in your heartbreak. He is there. Always. Eternally.

God, You have always been with us.

God, Increase our faith in You, as we see signs of Your grace, power and love all around us. Continually sharpen our spiritual vision to see You. Amen.
