You Are a Mystery

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Romans 11:33

ME: Jesus, it is easy for me to see where I have come from. Sometimes I do forget a few details, but I really wonder about the path in front of me.

JESUS: Why are you concerned about that?

ME: I guess it’s because I feel like I am walking blindly and that is just a little daunting for me.

JESUS: I am your Light!

ME: Yes, I know that. but I like to see where I am going. Maybe I just want to be in control.

JESUS: My precious child, control is something that was given to Me. Be grateful it doesn’t belong to you.

ME: I know that You are infinitely more intelligent and that I am finite. I choose to stay with You, but I am still a little uneasy at times. Much of what happens in the world around me does not make any sense at all.

JESUS: That is no surprise. This fallen world is beyond your comprehension because your heart belongs to Me. It brings Me great joy that you are Mine.

ME: I want You to know that I am thankful for Your words that I read. Some of the things that were former obscurities—things that were kept hidden for thousands of years—now make sense. Your life, death and resurrection uncovered so much. This is all costly yet priceless knowledge.

JESUS: Yes, I did this for you, and you must know that we are not finished yet! My ways that I work in this world today are mysterious to you. They seem to frustrate your craving to comprehend. However, you do have a choice to make: you can challenge My ways or bow down in worshipful wonder knowing that I am taking care of you.

ME: I want to approach You with worship and to stop trying to analyze different events. In my humanness, there is no logic to be found. Maybe I need to make room for mystery in my thinking.

JESUS: That works for Me, dear one.

ME: Then, I choose to approach You with worship and wonder—marveling at the depth of the riches of Your wisdom and knowledge.

JESUS: Someday you will understand it all. Until then, just trust Me.

 Lord, I Trust You
