It Does Not Always Fit
ME: Jesus, I am not complaining today but I have a few serious questions.
JESUS: Let’s hear them.
ME: First, I want to thank You for Your robe of righteousness that covers me from head to toe! It is so velvety soft. I can get lost in the luxurious folds of material.
JESUS: Precious child, you are most welcome. However, do I hear a “but” coming?
ME: Well, actually yes You do. It does not seem to fit me very well. There are times when it is too small and times when it is just too big. Sometimes it is too long and I trip over it. Why can’t it fit right all the time?
JESUS: Actually, that is a simple answer. I have given you room to grow and My robes are not one size fits all. I have another explanation for you. The robe size does not change, you are the one doing all the shifting and fluctuating. The robe remains consistent.
ME: So, You are telling me to grow into it? Okay, but Jesus, there are moments when I do not feel worthy of this garment that You purchased for me with Your blood.
JESUE: Oh, but you are! There is power in My blood and if you can keep your eyes on Me, you will be able to relax and grow more comfortable in this raiment of salvation. Please do not let it ever feel like an old favorite sweater because My mercies are new every morning and you never know what lies ahead. Do not become complacent.
ME: I have to be honest, there are situations when I try to take off my robe.
JESUS: I know. Why?
ME: I think it is because I’m embarrassed about my behavior. I struggle to be like You and find myself in some shady areas.
JESUS: Beloved, do not take off the robe, take off the unrighteous habits and behaviors. The robe is yours! Wear it forever. I promise that there will be times in your remaining days when it will fit perfectly. Continue to practice walking in My royal dignity. You may stumble occasionally, but I will help you get up.
ME: I need to talk with You more often because You make life easier to understand.
JESUS: Well, I am always here.
