Hiding From Sin
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John1:7
ME: Jesus, why do I isolate? I mean, there are times when I just want to be left alone.
JESUS: Why is that?
ME: I am not sure, but I have these moments when I would rather do anything except be around people.
JESUS: My precious child, what have you done? Is there something you need to share with Me?
ME: I don’t think so. Well, maybe.
JESUS: When your sin is weighing you down, come to Me and talk with Me.
ME: But I’m not even sure it was wrong.
JESUS: If your issue is bothering you this much, there is something to it.
ME: Telling You is easier than sharing it with others because then I would have to expose the situation that they don’t even know about.
JESUS: Let me explain this all again to you: In the Light of My Presence you will receive forgiveness, cleansing and healing. I have clothed you in My righteousness, so nothing can separate you from Me. When you stumble, I am there to help you up.
ME: Jesus, I don’t like feeling like a hermit.
JESUS: Good, because I had much bigger plans for you. You know that man’s tendency is to hide from his sin, seeking refuge in the darkness.
ME: Yes, like Adam and Eve…
JESUS: …And you see how that turned out.
ME: Does everyone try to hide from their sins?
JESUS: Yes for at least a short time. First, they must recognize sin. Man often indulges in self-pity, denial, self-righteousness, blaming, and even hatred before that happens. When he realizes that he has sinned, there is a time of repentance.
ME: So, You’re saying I’m sort of normal?
JESUS: Perhaps that is not the best word but being human gives you those traits. Child, remember I am the Light of the world. My illumination decimates the darkness. Let My Light envelop you, driving out darkness and permeating with My Peace.
ME: It sounds so easy.
JESUS: Give it a try and come out of that cave. Stop hiding!
ME: Jesus, will You help me?
JESUS: Of course!
Gracious and Loving Father, thank You for calling us on our sins. Help us to stay closer to You so we don’t wander away. AMEN.
