A Foretaste
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3
The more thankful I am, the more thankful I am. Not sure if that will make sense to you but when I am thankful, my gratitude grows deeper and deeper. We are blessed in so many ways that it is only right that we should praise God from whom all blessings flow. In those moments of pure love and thankful hearts, we catch little glimpses of our eternal home. Sarah Young (Jesus Listens) shares a prayer that seems to fit today.

My Savior-God,
You’ve been showing me that a thankful attitude opens windows of heaven—openings through which spiritual blessings fall freely. As I look up with a grateful heart, I gain glimpses of Your Glory. Even though I cannot yet live in heaven, I can experience foretastes of my ultimate home. These samples of heavenly fare revive my hope and fill me with Joy. Thankfulness opens me up to these experiences, giving me further reasons to be grateful. Thus my path becomes an upward spiral—ever increasing in gladness.
I realize that thankfulness is not some sort of magic formula; it’s the language of Love, enabling me to communicate intimately with You. You’ve been training me to maintain a thankful mind-set—without denying reality with all its problems. Please help me to be joyful in You, my Savior, even in the midst of trials and troubles. I’m grateful that You are my Refuge and Strength, a very present and well proved help in trouble.
In Your strong Name, Jesus,
AMEN
