Peace and Quiet
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17
ME: Jesus, thank You for the beauty that is all around us. You even showed us an angel today and that is over the top!
JESUS: Thank You for noticing My creation—which I did for your enjoyment.
ME: Sometimes I get so busy with life that I don’t take the time to seek the splendorous things in life.
JESUS: And that, My precious child, is a truthful statement.
ME: Why do I miss such things even when I know they are present every moment of every day? I can’t be that preoccupied, or am I?
JESUS: Think about it! When you need to keep a posted schedule, your life is too hectic. Just do My will and the Holy Spirit will guide you the rest of the way.
ME: But I am old and I forget things. My to-do list is the only way I can keep up with myself.
JESUS: You have not yet learned to quiet yourself in My Presence and find My Peace.
ME: Well, how can You quiet me with Your love?
JESUS: Believe that I can do this. Trust Me! If you come to Me and ask, “Please quiet me with Your love,” you know I will never turn you down. I want you to rest in Me, in the quiet of the moment I will provide you with all the peace you can handle.
ME: I want peace and quiet, but how do I get it?
JESUS: My Word tells you all you will ever need to know. Try this one: You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you (Isaiah 26:3). Here is another one for you, Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid (John 14:27).
ME: I think I know what You are saying.
JESUS: Know that I have gone to great lengths to provide for your every need; use what I have provided.
ME: Peace and quiet are inside of me.
JESUS: Yes, now get ready for this day; talk to Me, watch Me, and see what I lovingly provide for You.
ME: Wait…Jesus, can I hear You sing today?
JESUS: Of course, just listen!
