Understand?
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” Matthew 28:5-7 (NIV)
ME: Jesus, if I had lived during Your time on earth, I’m not sure I would’ve bought into this story. You were an amazing teacher but I probably would have been skeptical about Your message. Indeed, Your miracles might have drawn me a little closer with intrigue. However, the exchange between Mary and the angel sounds too far-fetched for me—had I been there.
JESUS: That is why you are alive today. It was even difficult for my closest friends to understand all of this and we were constantly together for three years. To them, dead meant dead but My Father had a different plan.
ME: Come to think of it, You lived and talked with them and now You are living and talking with me today. How? That is almost unbelievable…but then again, You are Jesus Christ.
JESUS: I am who I am and you just must accept it. I only speak the truth so as much as your human mind wants to question, leave it be because it will only cause confusion and chaos. You do not need that. You worship a living Deity. Your relationship with Me is meant to be vibrant and challenging and I am making changes within you.
ME: So, You are turning me into a new creation? One that does not ask so many questions.
JESUS: Yes, to the first part. The old things are passing away and new things are continually on the horizon. I do not want you to cling to your old ways or resist My work within you. No about asking questions. Your words tell Me that you are thinking about Me (our relationship) in a deeper way. Each conversation draws you a little closer to My heart.
ME: But what if I am content with how things were yesterday?
JESUS: Do not try to force-fit today into yesterday’s mold. Let Me ask you ‘what if today contains richer blessings?
ME: As always, You are correct.
JESUS: Of course! Ask Me to open your eyes so you will find all I have prepared today.
ME: What if I don’t see everything?
JESUS: Trust Me, eventually you will!
