We have a few things planned in the coming weeks. We hope you’ll consider joining us! Many of these events are for ALL YOUTH and some even include invitations for parents/adult mentors to join us.
These events, February through July, will appear on the Youth calendar available through our church app.

Not Quite a Lock-In “Mock-In”
Feb 20th 6PM - 11PM
All Youth (7-12) are invited to participate in our mock lock-in event. Our evening will include dinner, Disney’s “Encanto” movie, devotional discussion, snacks and a service project.
We need a few parents to help!
Fat Tuesday Sunday Donut Day: Feb 27th
We’re taking preorders now and will also have individual donuts for sale on Sunday 2/27 (the Sunday before Ash Wed.)
How can you help? We need several youth to box/bag orders and hand them out/collect money. Please text Janet Hilsmier (484-868-1295) or email kidsconnect@stjameslimerick.org if you can help.
And don’t forget to promote the sale of the donuts with your family, friends and neighbors… go the extra step and offer to deliver them!
Money raised through this fundraiser will be added to our Youth Mission Trip fund to help us offset costs for future mission trips.
Event Update
This Synod event has been revised to a ONE DAY retreat for teens grades 6-12 and will be held at a local Lutheran church. Confirmation Students and Senior High Youth are invited! Chaperones/Adults are welcome (cost covered) and encouraged to participate in small groups with the youth (but not required).

Summer Mission Trip 2022
The sad news is that our ELCA Gathering trip is cancelled, but the good news is that we have a new opportunity to explore a summer mission trip and ALL YOUTH are invited once again to consider joining us!
We shared some ideas for a service/learning/mission trip with the group on Sunday night. Our goals are to find an option that is “relatively close”, meaning drive-friendly vs flying. Bobbie shared some opportunities that include helping communities dealing with flood damage, supporting an elderly population with home repairs, visiting an adult day care or working with children. Locations included Philadelphia, Nashville TN, Winston-Salem NC and Frederick MD.
We heard there is interest in working with children and build/repair opportunities. Bobbie will be pursuing more information to see how much some of the options are customizable and get more details re costs, timing etc.
If you are aware of another option that you’d like us to explore, please feel free to suggest. Because the Gathering pulls from a large base of youth across the country, many service organizations were quickly filled for the week of July 24-29, but other options exist at other times. If there are other weeks of the summer that might work, we’d love to hear from you. We will keep you informed on our research.
