The Great Commission by Anonymous

Matthew 28:18-19 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

In a way, this was a graduation exercise for the disciples. Jesus had been teaching them, training them, preparing them, and now He is sending them out to spread the gospel. He needs to encourage them. They are scared, confused, anxious, unsure of themselves and the risen Lord is saying to them, I believe in you. I’ve got an important job for you. I’m counting on you. I know you can do this.

Listen carefully, the great commission is meant for you, too. Jesus wants you to graduate from the milk and cookies of your early spiritual schooling and go into the world telling others about His love. The world is desperate to hear that message—your message of how Jesus has blessed your life.

It is so important that we follow His lead and constantly look for ways to lift people up. Our calling as a church is to be here for people, continuing to share His grace, love and Good News of the gospel!

Jesus is with us as we share the Good News of His Love! Amen.
