I Am the Prince of Peace
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
There are so many different names we can call Him but during this time of year, these are heard most often. What do you call Him? My personal favorite is Father; since I was a little girl, He has always been that in my mind and heart. Sarah Young has such a way with words! She writes as if Jesus was actually speaking. Read this devotion (Jesus Calling) and feel Him showering you with His love.

I am the Prince of Peace. As I said to My disciples, I say also to you: Peace be with you. Since I am your constant Companion, My Peace is steadfastly with you. When you keep your focus on Me, you experience both My Presence and My Peace. Worship Me as King of kings, Lord of lords and Prince of Peace.
You need My Peace each moment to accomplish My purposes in your life. Sometimes you are tempted to take shortcuts in order to reach your goal as quickly as possible. But if the shortcut requires turning your back on My peaceful Presence, you must choose the longer route. Walk with Me along paths of Peace; enjoy the journey in My Presence.

During this Advent season, remember Him. Yes, He was a baby in a Bethlehem manger but even as a new-born, He was still the King of kings, Lord of lords and most assuredly, the Prince of Peace.
No one expected Him to arrive the way He did. They were all looking for a warrior king to show up and put the Romans in their rightful places. Instead, He came peacefully. The trumpets didn’t blast. There was no parade. The silence was mysterious.
Today, He still walks in Peace.
Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us a way to walk in Peace. Teach us to focus on You during this season. We desperately need Your Peace every moment of every day while on this journey. AMEN.
