Silent Saturday Prayer

As his body was taken away, the women from Galilee followed and saw the tomb where his body was placed. Then they went home and prepared spices and ointments to anoint his body. But by the time they were finished the Sabbath had begun, so they rested as required by the law. Luke 23:55-56

Help us, dear Lord Jesus, to enter into the sorrow and the silence of this Silent Saturday. Today no sacraments are celebrated. Today the world waits in mourning, reflecting on what You have done through Your sacrifice of love. Today we wait in anticipation to celebrate the glory of new life revealed in Your resurrection! As we keep vigil, fill us with hope, faith and awe and love for You. Amen.

Were You There
