Love What You Do!
Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23
Everyone has a passion for something! If you can’t find something in your life that brings you joy, please have your next of kin call your local coroner.
Your enthusiasm and deep unexplainable desire to do this (or these things) is what motivates you to keep moving forward. It can easily push aside horrific news of mass murders, political announcements, and pronouncements of illnesses. Picture yourself pushing through a crowd of people until you have broken through and are standing out in front. That is what you can feel when you have a passion for something! All the muddle is behind you and you are face to face with your passion.
Take Michael for instance, he enjoys his nature photography to the max! He is able to escape the leaky kitchen faucet and broken bird feeders (that the bear tore apart) and drive on the back roads. He has most likely been there before but each time holds excitement and anticipation. There is newness!
He drives slowly and we look for God’s creatures in the wild. A bald eagle, blue heron, beaver, a black bear and cubs, the deer changing from rust to dull gray-brown and even the turkeys are all camera worthy.
Why is riding around and taking pictures his passion? He does not do it for himself. Michael’s passion came alive when he discovered there were so many shut-ins that could not get out and see God’s handiwork. Whether his pictures contain dew on pine needles, sun on spider webs, or even wild flowers in an open field, he provides a breath of fresh air for those who need it.
Love what you do and do what you love! Your excitement might not be photography and that is fine. But whatever you do, put your whole self into it. Have you ever wondered what life would be like if Jesus was your delight and pleasure?
When I see all the beautiful pictures that Michael posts, it fills my heart with joy. I am amazed at the splendor that is all around me. It brings me closer to the Creator. However, that is not my passion. Every fiber of my being comes alive when I write and share life-lessons with you.
Find your passion and share it with the world.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the passion You have placed in our hearts. Help us to love what we do and do what we love with more focus on You. AMEN.
