Youth Group at St James 2024
Let’s get this party started! Youth Group meetings will begin Sunday, October 13th at St James in our Fellowship Hall. Join us for games, conversation and snacks. I can’t wait to hear how your school year is going!
We've invited friends from Grace Lutheran and our Confirmation co-hort churches: New Hanover, St James Pottstown and St Luke Gilbertsville to attend our meeting as well. We know several friendships have formed in the past year through both Confirmation and Youth Gathering, and we want to continue to promote those connections!
Youth Group on October 13 begins at 5PM through 7PM. We’re serving dinner, so please RSVP to Janet Hilsmier if you’re attending! Parents, if you’d like to help with dinner, let me know! Come and learn about other opportunities that are planned for the year!
Fall Youth Retreat!
We have a fun opportunity for youth in grades 6-9 this Fall! Join us for an overnight retreat at Bear Creek Camp in the Poconos! I am working with a team from our synod to produce an adventure including hiking, games, fire pit, faith conversations and more! Bear Creek Camp features heated cabins with bunks for sleeping and in-house bathrooms. I’d love for your kids to join me!!
We have more boys than girls in our youth group this year, if you’re a parent of a boy… would you consider being an adult chaperone? (Clearances are needed.) Please contact Janet Hilsmier to discuss!
Trunk or Treat 10/27/24
Join us for Trunk or Treat on Sunday Oct. 27 from 4-6PM. In years past, we’ve encouraged our Confirmation students and Sr High students to host a trunk - come up with a theme, dress up, decorate a vehicle and hand out candy! Or host with your family!

Advent & Christmas 2024
Each year we invite our youth to host one of the Christmas Eve services. We will hold a worship planning meeting for all youth grades 6-12 and tree decorating party on November 24th. (This is a Confirmation class day at St James in Pottstown. We’ll arrange a time that keeps this in consideration.) The Youth Led Worship is at 9PM on Christmas Eve.
