ELCA Youth/Young Adult Gathering 2024 – New Orleans Day 8

Today is our last day. We packed our bags, stored them at the hotel and made our way to the Convention Center for our final Mass Gathering - a worship service for 17,000 attendees. The high of the day included participating in a huge worship service that included dancers and singers and Holy Communion for everyone. We were inspired by the sermon and the grand finale of the event. Our low was probably the lowest of the week; there was a confusion about where we could enter the Smoothie King Center and the security guards had us walk 5/6ths of the way around the building, only to tell us to turn around! We got it fixed quickly and eventually entered for worship. It was also a little sad to say goodbye to all of our friends because we had such a great time together. We look forward to getting together again. We saw God in worship and in the joy of the students and leaders. We are grateful for this experience. (And we’re ready to come home!)
