He Is Faithful
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43:1-2
When I feel overwhelmed or stressed I remember a promise God has made to me in His Word. Throughout the day I will pray that promise. One of my favorite promises of God is found in the verses above. I pray a simple prayer - Thank You God that I am Yours, You are with me and I am safe with You.
This is a centering prayer and a reminder of God’s faithfulness. It turns my attention from my current issue or problem or unhelpful focus onto God. It is a reminder that God is all sufficient, all loving and my redeemer. I have often heard it said that we can not choose our circumstances but we can choose our response to them. I pray that God gives me the wisdom to choose remembering and praying about His faithfulness and promises in every situation I find myself.
I invite you to find a promise of God in the Bible that fills you with hope. May His promise carry you through your day, as you say it to yourself and pray it to Him! God is faithful; therefore, we will hope.
Faithful God, meet us in our need, fill our hearts and minds with Your Word and presence today, fill us with hope in You, which is never disappointed. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
