Inspire Me

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28 (NIV)

ME: Jesus, I need some inspiration. My heart hasn’t hit on any one thing this afternoon.

JESUS: Why do you think that is?

ME: Maybe too many text message? Seems that the minute I put my phone down to write, I get another one. Everyone wants and needs help.

JESUS: Let’s talk about the interruptions. Are they worthy of response?

ME: Yes, I think they are. My former neighbor, while I lived in FL, has a hematoma in her throat and is in ICU facing surgery tomorrow. She has a 4-year-old dog, Missy, and needs to find a furever home for her quickly. My dear dog-groomer friend (who also lived right there is now in Michigan) and asked if I would take Missy. I can’t, so I texted my other FL next-door neighbor on the other side and told her what was happening and asked if she could help.

JESUS: Isn’t that inspiration enough? Let’s see, you are dealing with life and death issues for your friend, trying to rehome a creature of Mine, maintaining strong bonds of friendship, and all from a great distance of thousands of miles.

ME: Yes, my mind is racing and my heart aches for Carol and her dog, Missy. I loved my neighbors and we had each other for fourteen years.

JESUS: Did you forget Me? I am here. I’m not thousands of miles away! I’m so glad you asked for help.

ME: But I asked for inspiration. Oh…I get it! My bad! I’m so sorry. I know you have a perfect plan, and I jumped the gun. I should have brought all this situation to You first.

JESUS: Yes. However, I gave you a tender heart for my creatures and for people. You understand better than many. Just remember that I know best.

ME: Well, are You taking care of these issues? I am not being pushy or rude but just want to know.

JESUS: What do you think?

ME: Jesus, I trust You completely. You have a beautiful plan, and I will wait on You.

JESUS: Thank you, my child. I don’t like suffering or sadness either. Keep on trusting Me and I will provide some great inspiration.

ME: You can say that again.

JESUS: Do I have to?
